The Haunted CVS in Savannah Ga

The Haunted CVS in Savannah

If you found this blog post you have almost certainly went on a ghost tour in Savannah and heard the story about the CVS store on Bull Street being haunted. Well, I am here to tell you that whatever you were told was a lie. Yep, you're guide lied to you! Imagine that, haha...

Before we go any further, let me explain. I am not saying the CVS store isn't haunted. I have not investigated the place. However, I can tell you with 100% certainty that the story everyone tells about the Haunted CVS is completely made-up.

The story about the Haunted CVS Store goes as follows. The store started experiencing weird happenings at night. Things would starts flying off of the shelves, demons would follow employees home causing them great harm. After this happened a few times the employees refused to work after the sun went down. Corporate CVS refused and said they must stay open 24 hours . After all, all CVS stores stay open 24 hours, right? (Nope)  The employees finally sent Corporate CVS night-time surveillance tapes of things flying off of the shelves of the store. A few nights every single item in the store flew off of the shelves. After enough complaining CVS decided to allow the store to shut down at 8pm. That is how the story goes...and that story is complete non-sense.

First, there was never an instance of everything in the store falling off of shelves in the store. One item...maybe two, possibly. But everything in the store? You should have known right then your ghost tour guide was trying to pull a fast one on you. Second, the part about the employees refusing to work late..and that is why this particular CVS closes early as opposed to all of the other non-haunted CVS stories which stay open 24 hours is nonsense. Most of the CVS stores in the Savannah region close early. The one down the road from my house closes at 10pm..every night. If you don't believe me check their website.

Now, don't be getting too upset at your ghost tour guide. You'll find that most of the ghost stories told by there tour companies are completely made up. This is a sad thing and one of the reasons we have worked soo hard to identify the real ghost stories in Savannah and present them to our guests. Savannah IS a very haunted city. There is no reason to be making up nonsense about haunted CVS stores having all of its items flying off the shelves, now being the only CVS store to close early.

If you're one of the ghost tour companies here in Savannah telling this story...knock it off. You're doing yourself and the true haunted history of Savannah a complete disservice.

Dining in Haunted Savannah

Dining in Haunted Savannah Ga

The Haunted Moon River Brewing Company

As the leading company of Savannah Ghost Tours we are often asked all sorts of questions while out on tour. One of the most common questions we get, usually from fans of ghosts and hauntings, is 'Where can we dine in Savannah that is really haunted?' Well, the short answer would be, almost any restaurant in the historic district. However, today we will mention one of the most popular places to eat in haunted Savannah, the Moon River Brewing Company.

The Haunted Moon River Brewing Company was originally the Savannah City Hotel. It was built in 1821. For the first 40 years of its existence the Moon River Brewing Company hosted guests from all over the world. For the next 150 years the building was used for many businesses and purposes. For most of the 1980's and 90's the building was actually abandoned.

Once the Moon River Brewing Company opened up in the mid-90's the hauntings and ghosts of the Moon River started to become well know. Even two television shows dealing with hauntings and ghosts have filmed episodes in the Moon River Brewing Company.

When you enter the Moon River Brewing Company you will be greeted by a large bar right in front of you and dining on the rest of the ground level floor. Many guests who have sat at the bar have experienced ghosts and hauntings. Glasses have moved on their own, people have seen the ghosts of people who are no longer there..and more.

One of the most interesting happenings that has happened to diners at the Moon River Brewing Company, and members of our ghost tours, is the habit of women being stuck in the bathroom stalls. For some reason, even when the door is not locked, women have found themselves unable to leave the restroom. Only after they ask the ghosts to let them out do to the doors open and allow them to leave.

Food at the Moon River Brewing Company is great. You can expect anything from regular bar food to steaks and seafood. I recommend the bacon wrapped filet or the quesadillas. Great food. They are also well known for the brew pub, the only one in Savannah.

So, if you are looking for a great haunted place to dine in Savannah give the Moon River Brewing Company a chance. Check back for more haunted dining places in the future.

A Savannah Hauntings Tour!

Savannah Hauntings and Ghost Tours

This is Nicodemus. He will lead you on a tour of Savannah's Hauntings

Savannah Georgia is well known as the city with the most hauntings in the United States. So, it is only natural that they are many ghost tour companies wanting to take you on a tour of these hauntings in Savannah Georgia.

While you are in Savannah Georgia you may decide to want to take one of these Savannah haunting tours. To help you decide which one you would like to take consider a few different things:

  • Not all companies with Savannah hauntings tours are made equal. Some of the companies rely on telling true stories about true events in Savannah's haunted history. Other companies have no problem with making up complete nonsense. When you call a ghost tour company and ask if they tell true stories they will all tell you that they do, which isn't true. Your best bet is to look on websites like Tripadvisor and see what people are saying about the tours.
  • Different tours go to different places. While Savannah has more hauntings and ghost tours than any other city in the country, each tour goes to a different area of Savannah. Make sure that the tour you book goes to the part of the historic district that you want to see.
  • Your ghost tour guide is going to make or break your experience. While each of the ghost tours will talk about hauntings and ghosts, not all guides are equal in their presentation. Once again, websites like Tripadvisor will help you make the decision on which guide you want for your Savannah tour of the many hauntings locations. If you see someone's name come up again and again in a positive light, make sure you request that specific guide when making your reservation.

If you follow those three simple rules you will find that taking a ghost tour of the Savannah hauntings to be a fun and memorable experience.
